1. Who is responsible
Melty Paws is published by Lyrad Studio (Lyrad, sole proprietorship, 68 cours de la Liberté, 69003 Lyon, France, SIRET 106 027 741 00011). Lyrad Studio is the data controller. Contact: lyrad.studio@gmail.com
2. What we collect, why, and on what legal basis
| Data | Why | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Game data: a random identifier created at install (not linked to your name or phone number), levels played, results, duration, moves, tools used, answers to offers, ads watched, purchases made (product, price), device model, operating system, language, approximate country, game version, performance, errors. | Understand where the game is too hard or too easy, fix problems, measure audience. | Legitimate interest (improving the game). |
| Device advertising ID, IP address, approximate location derived from the IP (country, city), technical device data, ad interactions. | Show ads, cap them, prevent fraud; and, if you agree, personalise them. | Consent for personalised ads and access to the advertising ID; legitimate interest for non-personalised ads and fraud prevention. |
| Measuring our ad campaigns (Meta): app opens, end of tutorial, levels reached, return days, purchases (product, price), ad revenue, advertising ID, technical device data, install referrer. No Facebook login, never your name, e-mail or phone number. | Know which of our ads on Facebook and Instagram bring players who enjoy the game, and pay for those ads efficiently. | Consent in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland (nothing is sent to Meta before you accept); legitimate interest elsewhere, which you can object to (§ 3). |
| Purchases: transaction confirmation sent by the store (product, order ID, purchase token). | Deliver and restore what you bought, keep accounts. | Performance of the contract; legal obligation (accounting). |
| Game errors and freezes (since version 0.1.7, through our own measurement, no third-party crash tool): error type and a short message (40 characters, no stack trace, no personal data), freeze duration, loading time, device memory and model. | Fix bugs, check that the game starts fast enough on entry-level phones. | Legitimate interest. |
| Support messages: your e-mail and what you write to us. | Reply to you. | Legitimate interest; performance of the contract for purchases. |
Notifications (if you allow them) are scheduled by your phone and send us no data. Rating requests use the store's official tool: we do not see your rating.
We do not collect: name, address, phone number, precise (GPS) location, contacts, photos, microphone.
3. Your choice about ads and measurement
On first launch, in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, a consent window (a Google-certified tool) asks whether you accept personalised ads and the measurement of our ad campaigns. You can change your mind at any time in the game (Settings › Privacy) or in your phone settings (reset or delete the advertising ID).
If you refuse, you will still see ads, but not personalised ones, and nothing is sent to Meta or GameAnalytics. Outside these regions, you can object to campaign measurement at any time by resetting or deleting your advertising ID in your phone settings, or by writing to us.
4. Our partners
We only share data with the service providers the game needs. Each processes it under its own policy:
| Partner | Role | Policy |
|---|---|---|
| Google AdMob (Google's ad network) | Select and show ads, measure them, prevent fraud | policies.google.com/privacy · how Google uses data from partner apps |
| GameAnalytics (GameAnalytics ApS / GA Ltd) | Game statistics (sessions, level progress, coins, ads and purchases), with a random identifier and without the advertising ID; in the EEA, UK and Switzerland only after your consent | gameanalytics.com/privacy |
| Meta (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd / Meta Platforms, Inc.) | Measuring our ad campaigns on Facebook and Instagram | facebook.com/privacy/policy |
| Google (Google Play, consent window) | Payment, refunds, restoring purchases; collecting consent | policies.google.com/privacy |
| Apple (App Store) | Payment, refunds, restoring purchases | apple.com/legal/privacy |
| Vercel | Hosting of the website and of our game statistics | vercel.com/legal/privacy-notice |
We may also disclose data where the law requires it.
5. Transfers outside the European Union
Some partners process data in the United States or elsewhere outside the EU. These transfers rely on an adequacy decision (including the EU–US Data Privacy Framework) or on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
6. How long
- Game data: at most 25 months after collection, then deleted or fully anonymised.
- Advertising and measurement data: according to each partner's policy (links above); your consent choice is asked again at least every 13 months.
- Purchases: as long as accounting law requires (up to 10 years).
- Support messages: 3 years after the last exchange.
7. Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, erase or port your data, restrict its use, object to its processing, and withdraw your consent at any time. Write to lyrad.studio@gmail.com and include the player ID shown in the game's Settings: without it we cannot find your data, since we do not know who you are. We reply within one month. Step by step: Delete your data.
If you think your rights are not respected, you can complain to the French data protection authority, the CNIL (cnil.fr), or to the authority in your country.
8. Children
Melty Paws is meant for an adult audience and is not designed for children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. In France, a parent's agreement is required under 15 to accept personalised ads. If you believe a child has sent us data, write to us and we will delete it.
9. US residents
We do not sell your personal information. We only "share" it under California law (CCPA/CPRA) for personalised ads and the measurement of our ad campaigns, which you can refuse as explained in § 3.
10. Security and changes
Data is sent encrypted and access is limited to the publisher. If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with its date; for significant changes, we will let you know in the game.
